Ten years ago on this day I was so happy and excited to welcome my very first nephew into my life. I remember sitting on an airplane and waiting patiently for it to take off. Then the announcement came. There were mechanical problems and we would be delayed for 2 hours. I sat there fiddling my thumbs. Finally we were off. I landed and ran to catch a cab. I got to the hospital and Grandma and Maryann met me outside. You were almost here. After all that, I made it before you were born. We waited and waited and finally your Dad came out to the waiting room. He looked at us with no expression, so we thought you had not arrived yet. Then he said it “IT’S A BOY” We all started screaming and started shaking your Dad to get him excited. You know how your Dad is, always cool and collective. I think he was in shock. Everyone around us must have thought we were crazy. You were so cute. I remember looking at your feet and thinking how big they were. They were as long as my index finger. You had beautiful blue eyes and brown hair. I could not believe how much I loved you from the second I saw you. I love you and I hope you have a GREAT 10th Birthday.
Now we will really know if your Mom checks my blog!!!
