So where did I go wrong? I know I am not the best parent, but I do TRY my best. Rebecca has been having some issues in school again. Let me start by telling you first how my afternoon started. At about 5:45 pm I got to Terry’s house to pick up the kids. I walked in the door and Kevin and Becca were both lying down and looked like they were sick. Well they were not sick, they were in trouble! I got the story at how some very inappropriate things were being said and Terry could not figure out who started the conversation so Becca, Kevin and another child were all put in time outs until I got there. In the car on the way home I told them that what was said was wrong and very inappropriate but what I was more upset about was the lying, and that no one would fess up. Becca started crying and said it was her. She apologized to Kevin for blaming him and then when we got home we called the other child’s parent to apologize. Well I thought the night would be better. At that point I told Becca that she was to do her homework, eat dinner, take a bath, and get to bed. NO QUESTIONS, she was punished. She agreed but still cried for over an hour. It was then that the phone rang. It was Mrs. Puga. Becca got in A LOT of trouble at school and basically did not care. She hit another child and when she was caught red handed by the teacher she just rolled her eyes. They took away her shining stars; they gave her a red light (which is one step before going to the principals’ office) and told her they were going to call me. She still did not care, which is probably why I knew nothing about it until her teacher called. I am beside myself. I do not know where I went wrong and what I can do to fix this. I already put a call into my pediatrician with hopes that he can help. Maybe she is looking for attention. At this point the only attention she is getting is negative attention.
